Bart van Oijen (1949) lives in the Netherlands, where his lyrical abstract paintings are well-known, as well as his animal drawings. His works frequently are characterised by colour explosions, while on the other hand he also creates modestly coloured paintings and mixed media. Variation is important to him. Bart was educated at the Academy of Arts in Arnhem - Holland in the period 1970 - 1975. After an initial figurative and illustrative start of his career, he gradually started to abstract his work and that resulted in an abstract form of art in which the relation to nature remains always present. Bart van Oijen shows his artwork regularly in the Netherlands, Belgium, Scotland and Germany. Next to painting and drawing, he is a photographer too, both analogue and digital. Bart van Oijen made several book/magazine/record covers and illustrations.
Exhibitions for this year are planned in Oldenburg en Hamburg (Germany) and in holland.
