I was born in Istanbul in 1972. After graduating from high school, I was accepted as an apprentice goldsmith into one of Istanbul's a few remaining old family run workshops, where they produced their designs. There I was introduced to all different processes involved to produce an 18 ct. and platinum fine jewellery. I was also encouraged to develop my modelling skills using wax.
In 1994 through a British Council Education fair I got enrolled in the Kent Institute of Art Design “Higher National Diploma” course in jewellery design. These two years in K.I.A.D gave me a great opportunity to revise my previous knowledge in jewellery making in an academic environment. Shortly after the beginning of the course, I started a “work release” in Stephen Webster's workshop in London, where following my graduation I was offered a full time position. I became a part of a specialist team of craftsmen, working as a goldsmith and a wax modeller for ten years.
Currently I am a freelance designer and model maker working with commissions.
