Created by SharpCut Visual Arts Project director Alessandra Masolini and Consul General of Italy in London David Morante, Renaissance is a new arts prize aimed at emerging artists of all nationalities and cultural backgrounds operating in London.
Winners will be announced on the night, after the screening of a brief video presentation of works by short-listed candidates and a live music performance. For each of the four categories – painting, photography, video and music – two prizes will be granted: to the best Italian artist in London, and to the best non-Italian artist in London.
Each winner will receive an artwork donated by SharpCut artists Vania Elettra Tam, Antonietta Campilongo, Marc Carniel, Giuliano Pastori, Sabrina Ortolani, Consuelo Mura, Guido Gentile and Severine Queyras. In addition to this special and valuable gift, two artists will be selected by our sponsors Pietralta and Toscana In, to present their work at the 7th edition of international art exhibition Atelier d’Artista 2009, following a two weeks residency in Tuscany.
A dinks reception and wine tasting kindly offered by the sponsors will follow the cecemony. All artists and guests will be invited to join the organizers.
