Welcome to Allan Storer’s Rugby Art
Allan Storer, M.A. studied at the University of Wales, Swansea, Chelsea School of Art and Kings College, London.
Presently painting his dynamic Rugby Art Paintings within earshot of Twickenham Rugby Stadium, London and Swansea, South Wales; his rugby art images are recognisable for his thick impasto technique, giving a textural and sculptural quality to the work.
Allan Storer’s distinctive style involves working with the key lines that shape the rugby images and then with visible brushstrokes and palette knife emphasising the rhythm and movement within the rugby painting. The thick paint appears to pin the rugby player to the canvas giving simultaneous and oppositional effects of speed, struggle and forced restraint.
Most paintings are based on images of England Rugby, Ireland Rugby, Scotland Rugby and Wales Rugby. Allan Storer will accept specific commissions for individual requests. His original paintings and rugby prints are an ideal gift for the rugby sport enthusiast, who is both a lover of art and the rugby game. Please email Allan Storer for more information at allan@rugbyarts.com
Other works by the artist include life study art pieces, which are striking images portrayed in both paint and thick charcoal. His influences are Frank Auerbach R.A., Welsh artist, Sir Kyffin Williams R.A and Lucien Freud.
