Bria Kromm (1957) lives and works in Amsterdam, The Netherlands since 1986 after having lived in the south of France for several years. She studied at the academy of visual arts in Bremen, Germany and followed the teacher training at the Hogeschool of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She is member of the Dutch association of professional visual artists (BBK).
She has traveled extensively and much of her work reflects influences from abroad. In her themes(portrait, landscape etc.) her aim is to capature the essence. In this process, details are left away to reach simplicity. Although her work is figurative, she integrates symbolic and abstract elements.
Bria Kromm has recieved grants from Art Foundations in the Netherlands and the United States. Her work is part of private and company collections in the Netherlands and abroad.
