Dusanka Badovinac

I was born in Belgrade (Yugoslavia), and I have been living in Holland for the past 14 years. Being a graduate of the School for Industrial Design, I used to work as a graphics designer. I also studied Art History at the University of Belgrade.
My work is expressionistic, it is my emotional personality, but also the circumstances in my life, which created me as an artist. Paintings I make, I experience as landscapes whatever the motive is, because I like that moment when I’m painting (walking through canvas).
The process of developing in skills and learning about my possibilities is for me the most inspiring.
I spend a lot of time in sketching, and design, but finally in front of canvas, I like to feel the smell of paint and turpentine, movement of my hand, the light and color.
That action is my biggest pleasure in painting.
Mostly I paint in oil and make figurative work. But I also like to work in watercolor, pastel and mixed media. Sometimes I challenge my three-dimensional view making sculptures.

Hallo Dusanka (Dobry den Dusanka :-))

deine Werke wurden mir von meinem Freund empfohlen. Ja, er kennt meine Vorliebe.

Ich habe mir deine Bilder angeschaut und an denen gewisse Zeit verweilt. Später habe ich mir deine weitere Arbeiten in deiner privaten Homepage angeschaut, dann dein BIO gelesen.

Deine Bilder entstehen aus deiner persönlichen Emotionen und Lebensumstände, wie du selbe sagst. Weil die auf mich wirken, kann ich mir da vieles interpretieren.
Man kann fast spüren, dass du beim Malen großes Vergnügen hast. Ich bilde mir ein, dass ich sogar, wie du, den Geruch der Farben und Terpentine rieche.

PS: Ich hoffe, dass du als Holländerin auch die deutsche Sprache kennst. Sonst sagt mir, dann werde ich das in die italienische Sprache übersetzen lassen :-)
