Bria Kromm (1957) lives and works in Amsterdam, The Netherlands since 1986 after having lived in the south of France for several years. She studied at the academy of visual arts in Bremen, Germany and followed the teacher training at the Hogeschool of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She is member of the Dutch association of professional visual artists (BBK).
She has travelled extensively and much of her work reflects influences from abroad. Her work contains of portraits and landscapes and depicts an almost realistic setting in combination with surreal and abstract elements. Her paintings are about an inner and outer space, about how people experience space in themselves and in interaction with their environment. The use of a wide palette of colours, symbols and perspectives is a signature in her work.
Bria Kromm has recieved grants from Art Foundations in the Netherlands and the United States. Her work is part of private and company collections in the Netherlands and abroad.
